Interim Risk Informatics Manager


We are working with an NHS organisation who are seeking to appoint an Interim Risk Informatics Manager. The role will start ASAP and will be for 6 months initially. The post holder will be responsible for the development of Datix and patient safety information systems, to ensure the organisation has an effective, accurate reporting system that supports oversight and assurance with regard to patient safety. The system is needed to meet the increasing demands of the organisation and to support data quality, oversight and quality improvement programmes and sustainable change. This is an interim role that falls under the Workforce Alliance Framework and should be expected to be remunerated at a c£260 day rate. Key responsibilities will include: * Leading on the organisations cross site reconfiguration of the Risk Management System and to continually develop, monitor and evaluate the usability and effectiveness of the system, piloting innovations, benchmarking practice and be ahead in implementing requirements for continued quality improvement; * Leading the design, coding, development, and support of the DATIX system and related technologies; * Working closely with Datix (system and supplier) testing new features and leading the way in product development from an end user perspective; * Providing timely, accurate and appropriate management information from highly complex database to internal stakeholders and wider health community; * Ensuring the risk management system has a clear action / issues log for change process; * Acting as point of contact with the supplier and monitor fault logging, ensuring maintenance requirements and interventions are provided as actioned as per agreements; * Representing the organisation at external DATIX user group meetings as appropriate; * Maintaining technical documentation describing the DATIX system, data dictionaries and data definitions; * Working collaboratively with relevant leads in all divisions to support quality improvement through use and data extraction from the risk management system. The ideal candidate will have: * Digital qualification to degree level and/or equivalent experience in Datix Development and Project Management within an NHS healthcare setting; * Experience in developing complex, integrated IT systems within an NHS setting; * A proven ability to manage and deliver large scale IT projects from start-up, including scoping
